Outdoor LoRaWAN™ IoT Gateway with PoE
In many sectors, vital technological changes and inventions with the continuous rise of automation and robotics evolution are introduced weekly. The current trend of automation and data exchange in manufacturing technologies is known as the fourth Industrial Revolution, which has the interoperability to connect billions of devices and sensors every day.
The new LoRa®-based network represents the next step in the future of connected objects. It’s long-range radio communication and low energy consumption enable the connection of millions of objects.
LoRa® technology is built into RF transceiver chipsets, allowing us to use it in modules, sensors and gateways to capture and transmit data over long distance, while using very minimal power. In our establishment of LoRaWAN™ products, we were looking for relevant gateways to fill the essential parameters for the European IoT market.
This led us to develop the LoRaWAN Gateway: a fully outdoor device based on the LoRaWAN™ protocol. LoRaWAN Gateway is capable of supporting tens of thousands of endpoints, with the capability to receive packets of multiple devices sent with different spreading elements on up to 8 channels at a time. The specified Gateway provides simple cloud-based configuration and is designed for large networks and regions.
Arriving in a durable powder-coated IP67 aluminium case, it is suitable for the most demanding environments and weather conditions. It has the ability to receive signals with negative signal to noise ratio (SNR), which increases the sensitivity of the LoRa receiver. Built with IC880A LoRaWAN concentrator, the Gateway operates in the 868MHz band and provides the following features:
- Power over Ethernet (PoE) 802.3af Mode A
- IP67 certified rugged enclosure
- Frequency band 868MHz
- Based on IMST IC880A
- Output power level +20 dBm
- Receiver sensitivity -138 dBm
- Custom stainless steel mounting plate with antenna holes/locations
Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN) is becoming the main focus for IoT, providing a low cost network for connected devices and enabling new services related to M2M-applications and Smart City. LoRaWAN Gateway provides connectivity and network coordination to establish wide coverage public or private IoT networks. The Gateways are able to connect millions of sensors spread across urban and rural areas to more efficiently monitor, control and manage issues like energy consumption, data metering, parking and lightning conditions, traffic, fire detection systems or tracking devices for vehicles.
